Reg Gaudet was born in Powell River in 1921 to Carl and Vera Gaudet. He had one brother Bernard. The family lived in Cranberry. Reg went to Henderson School and graduated from Brooks High School. In 1940 he donated money to help raise funds for a trainer plane that the community of Powell River was involved in. He left in March 1941 for military training with the Royal Canadian Air Force ( RCAF ) Serial Number J/89118 and in 1942 was awarded his Wireless Air Gunners Badge at No 4 Wireless School, RCAF in Guelph, Ontario. He arrived in Great Britain and served with the RCAF 407 Squadron. He died March 11 1944 and is commemorated at the Runneymede Memorial in Surrey, United Kingdom.
