John Lambert (1864 -1947) came to Canada as a small boy and grew up in Toronto. After his wife died in 1901 he and his 13 year old son, Tom, went to Cortez Island in 1907. Tom (1888-1941) wed Gertrude (1894-1982) in 1913.With their children, Stuart ( 1914-2001) and Russell ( ? – 2005 ) the Lamberts moved to Powell River and pioneered Paradise Valley, in 1923.. Stuart married Barbara in 1969 and their daughter Ann, was born in 1970. Russell never wed.

The fonds consists of records of the John Lambert Family. Includes newspaper clippings, ephemera and three sous-fonds of John Lambert, Thomas Lambert and Barbara Lambert.

Thomas Lambert (1888-1941) wed Gertrude (1894-1982) in 1913.With their children, Stuart ( 1914-2001) and Russell ( ? – 2005 ) the Lamberts moved to Powell River and pioneered Paradise Valley, in 1923.

Barbara Lambert sous fonds. -

Barbara Lambert ( nee Rathbone ) came from England as a teacher and married Stuart Lambert( 1914-2001) in 1969. They had one child Ann, born in 1970. Barbara started to piece together the Lambert family history from John Lambert’s diary and correspondence as well as the textual material found in a trunk. She retired and started to write articles and then books about the Lambert family and other Powell River pioneers.

The sous- fonds consists of drafts of manuscripts used for published material..
