Reno Missio Family collection. - - 1934 – 1947 . - -textual records, 20 photographs

Reno Missio’s father Nicodemo ( Nick )( - 1955 ) emigrated to Powell River from Udine, Italy in the late 1920s. He found work in the Powell River Company pulp and paper mill. He sent for his wife Rosa ( nee Foshani ) and their daughter Theresa ( 1922 – 1974 ) in 1929. Son Reno ( 1930 – 2007 ) was born in Powell River. The Missio family first lived in Riverside and later in Wildwood. Theresa ( nickname was Vanda ) moved to Ocean Falls to work in the pulp and paper mill’s cafeteria in approximately 1936. She lived with her Aunt Itola and her Uncle Attilio Clozza. . Terry married Albert Jones. Reno married Norma Armitage and they had two sons and one daughter. Reno was a well known building contractor and a grounds and maintenance foreman for Powell River School District # 47. He was active with the Cubs, Scouts and Powell River Air Cadets and was awarded the Duke of Edinburgh Award for his service with the Cadet Corp.
