Harry Magnus Olaussen ( 1929 _ ) was born in Shanghai, China, a child of a Norwegian sea-captain. He has traveled all over the world and first visited Vancouver in 1956. He moved to Powell River in 1961 and worked in the pulp and paper mill as an engineer. A member of the New Democratic party he was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Coast Chilcotin riding in 1972 and served one term in Parliament. Olaussen was active in the Powell River Chamber of Commerce. He presently lives in Vancouver.
