Herman Oppikofer Collection. - - 1920-1940's - - 13 drawings.

Herman Oppikofer ( 1870 - 1943 ) was born in Thurgau, Switzerland, moved to Canada in 1902 and is listed in the 1916 census as living in Red Deer in Alberta. He moved to Powell River in 1918 and lived here until his death. He lived in Cranberry, Paradise Valley and finally across the street from Jack Hanna and Eva Mosley on the upper Westview Road ( now known as Nootka ). At one time he was a cook for a logging camp in the region. He was survived by one son in Switzerland.

[Archives note: The drawings were found in the estate of Hanna and Mosley in a trunk which was in a shed and are in rather poor condition. They are foxed, dirty, tattered and torn. ]
