The Powell River Chapter of International Training in Communication Chapter was formed in 1987 and was named Chimo. The club was formerly known as Toastmistress until the name change in 1984. The objective was the development of the individual member so as better to be prepared to meet the challenge of the times by giving leadership and service to community and country.
