Powell River Lions Club fonds. --1947 – 1984 - - 38 cm of textual records

The Powell River Lions Club incorporated in July 1947 and became dormant in 1984. It became active again in 1996. The Club was involved in many community projects; Blue Baby, Easter Seal Drives, Light Bulb campaigns Canadian Institute of the Blind etc. In 1949 the club took over, from the Powell River Company, the operation of the Willingdon Beach park. They provided playground equipment, replaced the Powell River Company float and raft and operated a Tea House which evolved into a Concession stand. The Club sponsored Little League teams, supported military cadets and other groups.

The fonds consists of records of the Powell River Lions Club. Includes legal records, minutes, secretary’s records, notes, correspondence, financial records, lists and ephemera.
