Texguard Video Collection - - 1993 – 2001. - - 8 video cassettes

Texguard Video was started by Bev ( 1931 - ) and Bob ( 1931-2008 ) Blackmore in the 1990s. Bob was born in Saskatchewan and enjoyed the outdoor life and adventure.. Amongst other things he was a trapper, he also worked on ranches, in mines and on construction He became a photographer and reporter and developed a passion for photojournalism. He worked in Calgary, Alberta and Nelson, BC on newspapers in those communities. He and Bev were married in 1950. They moved to Nicaragua to farm but when the Communist regime moved in they were forced to leave. Moving to Texada in 1979 they purchased a 100 year old farm and tried to wrest a living from it. Bob eventually went to work on the BC Ferries. His interest in documenting Texada’s history and present day happenings made him an avid videographer and his work was used on provincial television stations.
