Charlies Wright (1896-1983) was born in Lawrence, Kansas. He came to Powell River in 1926 and began work with the Powell River Company in 1929 in the steam plant, later transferring to the Millwrights. He became a member of the Powell River Company’s 25 Year Club in 1954. Charlie served with the 116
th Battalion in Canada’s Third Division overseas during WW 1 and he was a charter member of the International Order of the OddFellows, Malaspina Lodge #46. He raised his only child Charles Roy ( Mickey) (1926-1965). He married Edith (1897-1974) later in life.
